Therapy appointments last 50 minutes and are usually scheduled on a weekly basis, typically on the same day each week. Adjustments tailored to individual circumstances can be discussed at the beginning of our work together.
I offer sessions via phone, online, face-to-face and "hybrid", based on clients' individual needs and preferences.
The inital 20-minutes consultation is free.
Individual therapy sessions are charged at £60 and preferably paid by bank transfer before our sheduled session.
I offer limited spaces at a concessional rate, intended for students and those on a low income. These are on a first-come, first-serve basis and offered at my discretion. Please, do ask about it during the initial consultation.
The content of the therapeutic sessions will always remain confidential between the Client and Therapist, with the following exceptions:
Supervision: All counsellors/psychotherapists are required to have regular professional supervision for their work with an experienced practitioner. In these consultations, thoughtful attention is paid to preserving anonymity of the client and safeguarding confidentiality.
Risk to self and others: If you should lead me to believe that you are seriously planning to hurt yourself or another person or there is a child or vulnerable adult protection issue then, under these circumstances, I am required to consult with other professionals in order to initiate thoughtful considered protective action. In these rare circumstances I would always attempt, in the first instance, to have a discussion with you prior to breaking confidentiality.
Legal requirement to disclose information: This might be due to a court order, or because the law requires it, for example under the Terrorism Act 2000, Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986 and where Money Laundering is suspected. In these instances, information may be passed on without prior consent.
If the appointment is cancelled less than 48 hours before, the full fee will be charged, unless we can re-arrange a mutually convenient alternative session for the same week. If I cancel an appointment, no fee is payable by yourself. After 7 weeks of continuous sessions, I will require 1 week’s notice (1 session) to end our contract, which ensures a safe and protected ending for both parties to the therapy process.
I am a member of the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA https://eatanews.org/ ), the UK Association for Transactional Analysis ( UKATA https://www.uka4ta.co.uk/home ) and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP https://www.bacp.co.uk/ ). My clinical work is underpinned by, and adheres to, these bodies’ ethical frameworks and codes of practice.
